I am a General Partitioner with an interest in Digital Health, computers and web site production and design.  I work part time in a rural General Practice in East Lothian and also work with Scottish Government as a GP Clinical Lead in Digital Health and Care Directorate. I have previously been a member of Scottish Clinical Information Management in Practice, but am now part of the oversight of this group. I enjoy Scottish Country Dance, though mange to get to dances less often than I used to or would like, and occasionally practice photography with my digital SLR.

Form 2004 to 2010 I was the central Treasurer for the InterVarsity Folk Dance Festival the longest running youth folk dance festival in the UK, which has been going since 1951. Each year it is run by a new team in a new location. Until 2010 I had to nearly every of IVFDF since 1991, but since I have not made it to as many as I would have liked.

I enjoy science fiction and fantasy novels; though also like crime and detective books. My favourite authors include Neal Stephenson, Terry Pratchett (I have a complete collection of the paperback Discworld novels),Tom Holt, William Gibson (signed collection), Bruce Sterling (including his non-fiction work ‘The Hacker Crackdown‘). I also enjoy Ellis Peters and J.R.R.Tolkein.

I have various technical and clinical informatics skills and am amongst the Founding Fellows for the Faculty of Clinical Informatics. I provide IT support to the Foulkes Foundation.
